Continued Motivation
I need to express the importance of creating an energy source for
continued motivation. This sales specialist knows and understands the
importance of having a positive energy source for continued motivation
in the workplace – especially in one that plays host to a number of
individuals who focus on sales. If this energy source is not available,
it can cause chaos in the area of productivity and success. Even worse,
if there is a negative energy source present, not only does it affect
productivity and success, but it can be demoralizing for the company as
a whole.
What is Continued Motivation?
Continued motivation is easy enough in concept, but challenging when it
comes to technical application in real world business dealings. This is
the process in which you encourage the employees that you are
responsible for to do the “right” thing. Not only does this mean in
their professional lives, but also in their personal lives. It also
means within themselves. While there are the rare few that actually are
self-driven in the workplace and in life in general, there are a great
deal more that require constant and continued motivation.
If you are looking to motivate your employees in order to increase
productivity and excitement in their roles and responsibilities in the
workplace, it is important to know and understand that we all operate
off of some model when it comes to motivation to continue on in our
journey. While most corporations and employee satisfaction researchers
will agree that motivation is required at all levels, it is agreed that
rewards should not be offered to employees for their most basic roles in
the workplace.
To Reward or Not To Reward?
Employees were hired to do a particular job. They were hired with a job
description, and it is important to ensure that at the most basic of all
responsibilities, and effort that they meet these expectations at a bare
minimum. Now, do not get me wrong – encouraging and creating motivation
programs in the workplace to ensure that, at least, the minimum level of
productivity is met is a great strategy for keeping employees content
and giving them something to work towards. However, reward incentives as
an energy source should only be offered to those that exceed these
expectations.
Employers who have provided employees with incentives and rewards for
performing their basis responsibilities in the workplace have quickly
discovered that this a negative source of energy. This is simply because
of the fact that employees will consistently continue to feel the need
to be rewarded for what they are already supposed to be doing. Not only
will these result in a lack of advancement in the workplace, but this
can prove to be extremely expensive in the long run.
Conclusion
In order to develop a positive energy source, it is important that you
recognize those in the workplace that exceed the expectations issued to
them. If you have employees that are not even meeting the standard
expectations, you should work to motivate them and encourage them to
push forward with all of their might in order to reach a certain goal in
their professional careers. Work with your employees closely in order to
ensure that a manageable goal setting program is set in place. If you
do, continued motivation will prove to be a standard.
